Erling Haaland has started his third season at Manchester City on a very positive note.

Having won two consecutive Premier League trophies and Golden Boots, the striker has now scored four goals in his first two league games of the new campaign.

In fact, the 24-year-old scored his tenth hat-trick for Pep Guardiola’s side in their recent 4-1 win over Ipswich Town at the Etihad Stadium.

After this game, Haaland found himself being spoken about by one pundit who knows all about what it takes to be a top goalscorer in the Premier League.

Alan Shearer hints at more silverware for Erling Haaland and Man City

After picking Haaland in his latest Team of the Week, Alan Shearer had this to say about the striker on the Premier League website.

He said: “Another hat-trick for the collection. He could need a new trophy cabinet by the end of the year!”

Haaland could fire City to more trophies this season

This isn’t the first time a pundit has backed the Norway international to do something special this season, as Ray Parlour recently backed Haaland to win a third consecutive Golden Boot this season.

After scoring 86 goals in 89 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, the striker joined City during the 2022 summer transfer window in a deal worth a reported fee of £51m.

Since then, Haaland has gone on to find the back of the net 94 times in 101 games across all competitions.

With just two games under his belt in this latest league campaign, the centre-forward has the joint-highest total of shots on target (5) in the division.

Now that Shearer, who is the Premier League’s all-time top scorer with 260 goals, has suggested that Haaland could well be in line to add even more silverware to his cabinet this season, everyone at City will be hoping that he can continue his impressive goalscoring form and lead his side to more trophies.
