Haaland was on target three more times at the weekend for Manchester City, hitting a stunning hat-trick against West Ham United at the London Stadium.
And there were not just tap-ins. These were finishes of the highest quality – especially his second and third goals.
The Norwegian is already up to seven for the season, and somehow a third straight Golden Boot already looks nailed on. It certainly is for pundit Paul Merson.
The main thing for Haaland is to avoid injuries. He has done a good job of that since becoming a City player, making 102 appearances to date already.

He is redefining goalscoring in the Premier League, finding the net at a simply frightening rate.
It could be that Alan Shearer’s record of 260 goals in the Premier League is genuinely starting to come under threat. That record has stood for a long time, but Haaland has every chance of smashing it if he stays at City for long enough and can steer clear of big injuries.
Shearer just cannot believe what he is seeing right now, as he told the official Premier League website when selecting the player in his latest Team of the Week: “I am running out of words to describe this goalscoring phenomenon.
“In the blink of an eye, he took all hope away from West Ham by restoring their lead and then ending the contest with his hat-trick.”
Shearer also praised Haaland for his balance for such a tall player, and also talked up ‘the way he opens everything up’.

He really is at the very top of all strikers in today’s game, and fans must cherish this period. We are witnessing an incredible athlete and nobody seems able to stop him.
Haaland is special and we really can now talk about him in the same way everyone used to talk about Messi and Ronaldo when they were both around Haaland’s current age.
The one thing with Haaland is whether he can stay fit. Given how well he looks after himself, and the mentality he has about the game, there is no reason he can’t put up astronomical numbers throughout his career.
