Tijjani Reijnders was the star of the show for Manchester City as they kicked their Premier League campaign off in style with a dominant 4-0 victory against Wolves.

Pep Guardiola’s brand-new number four was instrumental in three out of City’s goals, starting with his sublime dribbling and dinked pass to provide the pre-assist for Erling Haaland’s opener.

As for his goal, Tijjani Reijnders’ powerful running and inch-perfect finish were reminiscent of Yaya Toure in his pomp and by setting up Haaland’s second strike, he had a Premier League debut for the ages.

Manchester City fans were over the moon about Reijnders’ display as they cruised to a win against Wolves.

Man City fans seriously impressed by Tijjani Reijnders in Wolves mauling

One Manchester City fan claimed that Reijnders is such a tremendous midfielder that it almost feels unfair to the opposition, while raving about his heroics against Wolves, claiming: “Having Reijnders on your team feels like cheating, he’s just too good at football.”

A second City supporter lauded the Dutchman by simply writing: “Tijjani Reijnders, I am sold, what a player, man.”

A third Manchester City fan described how incredibly complete a player Reijnders is during his masterclass against Wolves, analysing: “Reijnders is an alien because he can play [number] six, double pivot, eight and on both sides. Can score, can create, can defend. Has everything you want really.”

A fourth Sky Blues supporter compared the former AC Milan star to Ilkay Gundogan, claiming: “Reijnders is going to have that Gundo-esque feel where I’ll want him to drop deep to build play but also receive the ball in higher positions to score/assist. Gundogan stuff with a powerful carry and longer strides.”

A fifth City fan was in awe of the 27-year-old’s showing, as he wrote: “He’s just one of the best midfielders in the world.”

Finally, a sixth Manchester City fan named £48 million man, Reijnders as his Man of the Match against Wolves: “Excellent stuff. Lots of uncertainty going into the game but Trafford, Lewis and Bobb all performed really well. Reijnders MOTM – exactly what we were missing last season. Haaland with another opening day brace. Great start.”

All in all, the Zwolle-born technician’s match-winning performance commanded such high praise.
