As ever, Manchester City have several players out on loan for the 2024/25 season and this is how they are performing.

Manchester City have sent 13 players out on loan across the world to gain experience and match minutes this season.

From young prospects to experienced players with no future at the Etihad, here is how all of Pep Guardiola’s loanees are getting on at their temporary clubs.

After failing to make an impact at City and enduring a disastrous spell at West Ham last season, Kalvin Phillips will be aiming to resurrect his career on loan at newly promoted Ipswich Town in 2024-25.

Maximo Perrone – Como

After spending last year in Spain, midfielder Maximo Perrone has headed to Italy for the new season after linking up with the likes of Raphael Varane, Pepe Reina and manager Cesc Fabregas at Como.

Yan Couto – Borussia Dortmund

Yan Couto was expected to leave the club on a permanent basis this summer after never making an appearance for City despite joining them in 2020.

Instead, he is off on loan again, this time to Borussia Dortmund. However, the German club do have an obligation to buy the right-back in 2025.

A last-minute deadline day exit saw Jadel Katongo return to Peterborough United for a second season with the League One club.

Versatile defender Katongo enjoyed a breakthrough season with the Posh last term, playing 43 games, scoring twice and picking up three assists.

Now he’s looking to get even better as he returns to a successful stomping ground.

Callum Doyle – Norwich City

Callum Doyle made a great start to his loan spell at Leicester City last season but a serious injury ended up reducing his campaign to just 17 games as the Foxes won the Championship.

Now the 20-year-old is back in the second division for another year, this time with Norwich City.
