Manchester City go to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Sunday – and Roy Keane has made his prediction ahead of the clash.

City are buoyant after sealing qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League, after beating BSC Young Boys 3-0 on Tuesday.

It’s been a good past few weeks for City after the last international break.

Pep Guardiola‘s side have gotten back on track in the Premier League, winning their last three after losing to Arsenal at the Emirates.

Following Tottenham Hotspur’s defeat to Chelsea on Monday night, City head into the weekend as league leaders.

It will be an interesting game on Sunday, and Keane has now given his prediction…

The Citizens are favourites to win at Stamford Bridge, but it could be a tough game.

As Gary Neville pointed out, the Blues have given a good account of themselves against big teams at home this season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be feeling good after the 4-1 win over Spurs, and the thought of getting a statement win over City will no doubt be serving as motivation.

Keane can’t see past the visitors winning fairly comfortably though.

He said on a new episode of Stick To Football: “All day, two or three nil. Or two or three one. City all day. They’ll just hammer them. Two or three nil.”

The recent history of games between these two is certainly on City’s side.

They’ve won each of the last six meetings in all competitions since Chelsea beat City in the 2022 Champions League final.

City in good shape ahead of Chelsea clash

City fans will be feeling fairly confident ahead of this one.

Chelsea got a very good result against Spurs on Monday night, but they were rather expected to take maximum points once the hosts went down to nine men.

It will be a much harder game for them on Sunday when City come to town.

Just recently, City have gotten back on track. The return of Rodri has been huge for Pep. Jeremy Doku is looking electric, having grabbed four assists and a goal against Bournemouth last weekend.

Erling Haaland is back in the goals after a mini-drought just before the last international break.

So City are well placed to get a good result. The loss of John Stones to injury is a blow, though.
