Ally McCoist was left stunned by how Kyle Walker performed for Manchester City in the Premier League clash against Newcastle.

The 61-year-old made the claim when commentating on the game for TNT Sports.

So, what did Ally McCoist say about Manchester City No.2 Kyle Walker? Let’s take a look…

What McCoist said about Walker

Well, the Scot could not believe how high the England international was playing against Newcastle – claiming that he has never seen a defender stay that far forward.

McCoist said: “I have never seen a right-back play so high up the pitch like Walker.”

The 33-year-old was a constant threat down the right flank against Newcastle, providing the assist for Bernardo Silva to open the scoring after a lung bursting run and fine cross.

Walker nearly grabbed a second assist after the interval, showing a tremendous burst of pace before squaring the ball to Phil Foden, who failed to sort his feet out before Bruno Guimaraes cleared the ball to safety.

The £50m defender turns 34 in May, but on the basis on his performance against Newcastle, he remains as fit as ever.

Grealish even claimed earlier this season that he has never seen a better version of Walker than the current edition.

The Sheffield-born defender simply does not seem to age.

Walker performed like a spritely 24-year-old against Newcastle, bursting down the flank on several occasions to cause havoc for Dan Burn.

WhoScored shows that Walker embarked on three successful dribbles down the right flank – providing the assist for Silva’s goal with one of these runs, as aforesaid.

The Englishman also showed his defensive steel with one tackle, two interceptions and one block, on an evening where he proved exactly why many describe him as the best right-back on the planet.
