Jamie Carragher has suggested that any side in world football would love to have Bernardo Silva, after Manchester City’s dominant display against Manchester United.
City produced a stunning display at Old Trafford.
Pep Guardiola’s side needed three points after wins by Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
And wins probably won’t come much easier than this all season.
City took the lead through Erling Haaland from the penalty spot, after VAR took a minute to identify a foul by Rasmus Hojlund.
Haaland added a second early in the second-half, while Phil Foden added a third to put the icing on the cake.
For the final 15 minutes or so, it was as though United had given up, and some of the nasty tackles that were going in on City players was a suggestion of that.
At the heart of everything today was the brilliant Bernardo, who came in for some high praise from Carragher after the game…
Jamie Carragher makes big claim about Bernardo Silva after 3-0 win for Manchester City
Speaking straight after today’s game on Sky Sports, Carragher lavished praise on City’s Portuguese maestro.

He said: “Bernardo Silva really stretched Eriksen on that side, continually making those runs that we associate with David Silva. He’s been an outstanding player.
“And the funny thing with it is that it just feels like every summer, there’s always talk that he might go. But you know how desperate City are to keep him. I think any team in world football would love to have him. And I think he’s been one of the best signings Pep’s made in his time (at the club).”
Bernardo was given the man of the match award by Sky commentator Gary Neville.
Bernardo is special
Without a shadow of a doubt, Bernardo is one of the best footballers on the planet.
That was fairly clear before, but today’s game just hammered it home.
He is just an incredible technician, and works his socks off every single game.
City fans adore him and wish he would stay at the club for as long as possible.
City managed to keep the player in the last window, and hopefully that will be the case again next year with there likely to be speculation about his future once again.
Simply put, the club will find it extremely difficult to replace him once he goes, so hopefully it does not happen for another couple of years or so.
