Edin Dzeko has backed Manchester City megastar Erling Haaland to become one of the best strikers in the world for next decade.

As quoted by GOAL, the Fenerbahce goalscorer was quizzed about the differences between the Norwegian international and Karim Benzema.

Edin Dzeko showered Erling Haaland with praise in the process while explaining the differences between him and the Al-Ittihad talisman.

Branded as an ‘elite player’ by Sergio Aguero (via OneFootball), the 23-year-old was recently named amongst the nominees to win the PFA Player of the Year.

Winning the treble in his debut season at Manchester City while scoring 52 goals in 53 games across all competitions, the Leeds-born hitman has been a revelation since making his way to the Premier League.

When questioned about the differences between Erling Haaland and Karim Benzema, Edin Dzeko replied, “Benzema is one of the best strikers in the last 10 years. Haaland will be one of the best strikers of the next 10 years. They are different. Haaland is like an animal! He is goal-hungry. I haven’t seen these qualities in a player recently. Benzema is a classy, technical, quality player.”

Erling Haaland could outdo every striker to have played the game

Edin Dzeko is right to have tipped Erling Haaland for world domination, as he already is the standout striker in the world.

While the treble-winner has room to improve, especially technically and with his back to goal, he may already be the greatest natural goalscorer the game has ever seen.

Especially when compared to other strikers of yesteryear, it is hard to pinpoint many names that come close to Haaland’s level at his age.

As long as Erling Haaland stays fit and firing, his ceiling remains high enough to go down as the greatest No.9 to have ever graced the game.
