Manchester City got a much-needed win under their belts over the weekend, easing past Newcastle United in a 4-0 win on home soil.

Manchester City’s season has certainly been a hectic one. And their last week or so has been likewise following the disappointing 3-2 defeat against Real Madrid in the Champions League, which was followed up by a convincing win over Newcastle United.

Omar Marmoush joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt during the January transfer window in a £59million deal, and the Egyptian international scored a hat-trick against Newcastle United as City ran out as 4-0 winners on the day.

It was a huge win in the race for Champions League qualification and a huge one in the sense that it gives City a bit of confidence ahead of their Wednesday night trip to Bernabeu, with all eyes on whether or not Pep Guardiola’s side can pull off what would be a European miracle on the night.

Marmoush will be looking to add to his City goals tally which now stands at three in four total games for the Cityzens.

Arsene Wenger explains what he likes so much about Man City star Omar Marmoush

Speaking on beIN SPORTS, former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has given his verdict on Marmoush following the win over Newcastle United. Wenger has watched Marmoush since he was a Frankfurt player and the legendary former Premier League manager has sung Marmoush’s praises.

Wenger said of the 26-year-old: “What I liked is Marmoush; he’s mobile and he looks powerful as well, in his run. And he looks as well that, in his mind, he’s not scared of anybody.

“I saw him with Frankfurt play, he had some special talent, and in the first two, three games with City was disappointing, but yesterday already you feel him comfortable.”

During the first half of the season at Frankfurt, Marmoush scored an impressive 15 goals in 17 Bundesliga games, also claiming nine assists before his big money move to the Etihad on January 23rd.

Man City fans were also impressed with another player vs Newcastle United

Marmoush’s hat-trick against the Magpies secured him the Man of the Match award. But he wasn’t the only player who City fans liked the look of on the day: many City fans were impressed with Savinho on the opposite flank.

The Brazilian grabbed himself an assist on the day. Savinho, 20, already has seven assists to his name in 20 Premier League games for City this season, but only the one goal.

If Savinho can add goals to his game, and Marmoush can keep up his scoring form, then along with Erling Haaland City could have a very formidable frontline in the making.

City’s game against Real Madrid kicks off at 8pm on Wednesday night.
