Manchester City are likely to be busy in the summer transfer window as Pep Guardiola, Tkixi Begiristain and Hugo Viana look to strengthen the squad.
The Citizens have already embarked on their rebuild, signing the likes of Abdukodir Khusanov, Omar Marmoush and Vitor Reis in the winter.
Manchester City are also set to bid farewell to Kevin De Bruyne when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The Citizens have been linked with a numbers of players who’d be tasked with stepping into the Belgian’s shoes.
Now, England legend Ashley Cole has spoken highly of one of the midfielders Manchester City are eyeing as a potential De Bruyne replacement.

Ashley Cole hails Manchester City target Morgan Gibbs-White
Cole was the guest on the latest episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast, and he was asked about a number of exciting young English players.
One of those was Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, who is said to be a target for City.
The Athletic believe Manchester City admire Morgan Gibbs-White and could make a move to sign him this summer as a replacement for De Bruyne.
Cole admitted that he is a big fan of Gibbs-White, saying: “If you look at the potential of the player, again, he can do everything.
“He can run forwards, he can run backwards, and we always speak about that motivation to run backwards.
“He can unlock defences, he can score goals and assists, so there’s not a lot he can’t do.
“I’m not surprised a top team like Manchester City are chasing him and, similarly, Morgan Rogers as well.”
What Morgan Gibbs-White could bring to Manchester City and how much they may have to pay for him
Gibbs-White would be a great signing for City, as he’s a world-class talent who is heading into his prime and is already very proven at Premier League level.
| Morgan Gibbs-White stats 2024/25 | Total |
| Appearances | 29 |
| Goals | 5 |
| Assists | 7 |
| Key Passes | 44 |

Gibbs-White has been instrumental in Forest’s surprisingly superb season, with the Reds very much in the picture to qualify for the Champions League.
Manchester City News sources understand that Forest would want a figure in the £100million bracket for Gibbs-White, which is not surprising.
After all, Arsenal struck a deal with West Ham worth in the region of £105million for Declan Rice, one of the Premier League’s best midfielders and an England internatioanl.
