Manchester City youngster James McAtee is the subject of serious interest in the final days of the transfer window.

The attacking midfielder is still at the club for now, with many expecting that he would have left by now.

But City have been waiting to see how things shape up.

McAtee, is a player the club rate extremely highly.

And it was reported earlier in the summer that Pep Guardiola was actually thinking about keeping hold of him.

That could still happen.

But it remains to seen if McAtee will stick around. Because right now, a host of clubs want him in the next few days…

The focus of the article is actually Matheus Nunes.

City want to sign the Wolves midfielder, but at the moment his club are standing firm over the price.

But Wolves are said to be interested in having McAtee included in a cash-plus-player deal.

But 90min say that sources have informed them that Ajax, Burnley, Leicester, West Brom and Sheffield United have all made contact with City over McAtee.

And last week, it was suggested that McAtee wanted a return to the Blades.

Of course, the ‘special’ starlet spent last season on loan at Bramall Lane and it did a lot for his development.

It will be very interesting to see what the outcome with McAtee will be.

Teams are fighting over one another to land him, and it’s no surprise really.

City youngsters are hot property these days, and McAtee is arguably the most exciting of them all. In terms of potential, he is probably the academy player most likely to become another Phil Foden.

So it’s little wonder clubs are queuing up to try and sign him.

Realistically he isn’t going to get many first-team minutes this season, especially if Nunes joins.

Ideally, City will send McAtee out on loan to a club playing the Premier League. A return to Sheffield United feels like the most sensible plan.
