Barcelona now want to sign Savio from the City Football Group – a player who is aiming to join Manchester City one day.
That is according to SPORT in Spain.
So, what is the situation involving Savio and Manchester City? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the City Football Group signed the Brazilian from Atlético Mineiro for €6.5m (£5.5m) back in June 2022.
Savio – also known as Savinho – was then “assigned” to Troyes by the City Football Group as his launchpad in European football, where he had a greater chance of game time than at Manchester City.
A loan to PSV Eindhoven followed in the 2022/23 campaign – where the South American struggled – although he is now shining on loan at Girona this season, another side in the City Football Group.
Savio has scored three goals – while also providing four assists – across 11 appearances in La Liga this season, helping Girona sit second.
As a result, Barcelona are interested.

SPORT believe Xavi is desperate to sign a new left winger, and has underlined Savio’s name in the Camp Nou offices following his excellent start to the season.
The Spanish news outlet even add that the 19-year-old is now valued at €20m (£17m) thanks to his progress at Girona.
Savio has eyes on Manchester City
The teenager knows how things work in the City Football Group – if you do well at Troyes, Girona, Palermo, Melbourne City or another club under the umbrella, the ultimate destination is Manchester City.
Savio – unsurprisingly – has eyes on a move to the Etihad Stadium, and backs himself to catch Pep Guardiola’s eye if he maintains his current level of performance.

The South American told MARCA: “The City Group is a very good project. I was at PSV, now in Girona. At PSV I didn’t play as much, but I learned a lot. I have to thank PSV for opening the doors to me, because the things I learned there have helped me be well at Girona today.
“The City Group’s project is first class, and I think that if I do well, Manchester City will want me.”
If Savio keeps performing and helps Girona qualify for Europe, it will surely be hard for Guardiola to ignore his progress.
