Manchester City have a significant number of players in their squad who know what it’s like to win trophies.
In addition to winning four consecutive Premier League titles, the Citizens have also picked up three major European trophies in the past few years as well.
This showcases how strong City’s crop of players is and how that gives them a strong chance of winning more silverware this season.
In fact, one particular figure from Pep Guardiola’s ranks has found himself being mentioned by a current Premier League player who thinks very highly of the City man.

Ben Brereton Diaz picks Kevin De Bruyne in ultimate XI
Appearing in a recent video shared on the Daily Mail Sport TikTok channel, Southampton attacker Ben Brereton Diaz was asked to build an XI filled with his favourite players of all time.
For one of his midfield picks, the Chilean chose to put Kevin De Bruyne in alongside Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Patrick Vieira.
Also included in the Saints star’s team were Iker Casillas, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Carles Puyol, Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry and Cristiano Ronaldo.
De Bruyne is one of the best midfielders around
One of the other midfielders Brereton Diaz picked in his ultimate XI has previously shared his admiration for the City star, as Frank Lampard called De Bruyne one of the best midfielders in Premier League history back in February.
Since City paid £54m to sign the Belgian from Wolfsburg back in 2015, De Bruyne has proved himself to be one of the club’s best signings.
With 386 appearances for the Blues under his belt, the 33-year-old has scored 103 goals and delivered 171 assists, providing goal contributions in some of the club’s biggest games.
Having won multiple trophies including six Premier League titles during his time with the Blues, it shouldn’t surprise any City fans that Brereton Diaz picked De Bruyne in this instance.
