Ben Foster has now decided whether Harry Kane would outscore Erling Haaland if he was at Manchester City.
During the latest episode of his very own show, ‘The Football Fill In’, the pundit gave his two cents on this ongoing debate.
Ben Foster says Harry Kane would outscore Erling Haaland if he was at Manchester City
Interestingly enough, Troy Deeney gave his verdict on this very same question back in June.
According to the former Watford striker, the now-Bayern Munich goalscorer’s tendency to drop deep would not make him the best fit in a team full of creative players, as opposed to an out-and-out poacher like Haaland.
But Ben Foster firmly believes if Harry Kane was playing for Manchester City, he would have more goals to his name than Erling Haaland.
“I think he would”, Foster initially said on The Football Fill-In.

“I think Haaland misses too many of those chances that Harry Kane would just sniff up.”
Referring to the Manchester City frontman’s miss against Chelsea where Robert Sanchez kept him out in the first half, he said, “You haven’t got a sniff if you’re a goalie if that’s Harry Kane. You’re looking, ‘Brilliant. It’s a goal.’ Simple as that.”
This season shows why Erling Haaland would come out on top
The fact that Erling Haaland (17 goals) is just four behind Harry Kane (21 goals) in terms of goals across all competitions disproves Ben Foster due to one major reason.
A certain Kevin De Bruyne, who is known to be the chief creator of a bulk of the 23-year-old’s goalscoring chances has been injured since the start of the season.
Yet, Haaland is not too far behind Kane, while playing in the Premier League, which is widely considered to be a superior division to the Bundesliga and by some distance.
Could Harry Kane replicate the Norwegian international’s goalscoring numbers in sky blue?
Potentially, as he too is an elite marksman but to discount Erling Haaland would just be a case of underestimating his abilities.
