Bernardo Silva is one of Manchester City’s most experienced players.
In fact, Silva has made more appearances under Pep Guardiola (367) than any other player the Catalan has coached in his career.
Having been at the Etihad Stadium since 2017, the Portuguese international has not only won multiple trophies during his time with City but he’s also played with a significant number of players.
The midfielder’s latest appearance for the Citizens saw him complete 90 minutes in their 1-0 win over Southampton.
As well as Silva admitting how difficult Southampton were for City to play against, he also found the time to gush over one of the many players he’s shared the dressing room with at the Manchester club.

Bernardo Silva hails Erling Haaland after Southampton victory
When asked by BBC Sport about Erling Haaland and his match-winning goal against the Saints, Silva was full of praise for the striker, saying this about him.
He said: “We have the big guy up front so these type of crosses, these type of actions inside the boss that is his main quality. He’s there, he’s hungry to score more and more.
“Today he helped us win the game and we are very happy to have him in our team as you can imagine.”
What else has been said about Haaland this season?
Haaland headed into this match with Russel Martin’s side having not scored a goal in any of his three previous league appearances.
However, he did score twice in City’s midweek Champions League match against Sparta Prague.
After that 5-0 win, Gabby Agbonlahor claimed that Haaland looked back to his best, saying this about his form.
He said: “He’s just a different breed, isn’t he, Haaland. Best striker in the world for me.
“I think he needed last night as well, been a bit quiet in the Premier League. Obviously he’s had a death of a family friend off the pitch [which] definitely affected him, but he was back to his best last night and that goal, wow.”
Against the Saints, the 24-year-old had 21 touches of the ball in 90 minutes, during which he registered four attempts at goal with three being on target.
With his fifth-minute goal being the only one scored in the game, it secured City the three points and put his tally for the season to 11 in nine league appearances.
Having once again proven himself to be a top goalscorer and a vital figure for City, it should come as no surprise that Silva is delighted to have him as a teammate.
