Fluminense No.7 Andre has now admitted he would love to move to the Premier League – after being linked with Manchester City.

The 22-year-old made the comments when speaking to Premier League Brazil.

So, what did Andre say amid links to Manchester City? Let’s take a look…

Well, it was the Daily Star who claimed that Manchester City could sign the £35m Brazilian in January – with Kalvin Phillips expected to depart the Etihad Stadium.

Fulham No.26 Joao Palhinha was also mentioned as another option.

Now, Andre has added fuel to the fire by admitting he would love to play in England’s top-flight.

The Brazil international said: “I watch the Premier League and it’s a big dream to play there one day. I’m focused on finishing the season at Fluminense and realising my dream of winning the Club World Cup. But my dream is clear, to be a Premier League player.”

A FIFA Club World Cup final against Andre’s Fluminense awaits Manchester City on Friday after Pep Guardiola overcame Urawa Red Diamonds, which gives the treble winners an ideal opportunity to scout the South American.

Andre would compliment Rodri very well

The Algodão-born terrier is a hardworking defensive midfielder, whose diminutive figure helps him to get across the ground and nick the ball away. In many ways, he is similar to N’Golo Kante.

In our view, Andre would be a fantastic partner to Rodri in midfield.

The Spain international is a towering, physical presence who rarely allows himself to lose a duel, although at times, he can be sprinted past by nippy opponents looking to take advantage of his size.

That is where Andre should excel, covering the spaces with his eye catching speed and anticipation skills – he can also keep the ball moving and recycle possession effectively, so you can see why Guardiola and Txiki Begiristain have shortlisted him.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as anything could happen in January.
