Manchester City youngster Oscar Bobb has received his first call up to the senior Norway squad – and Pep Guardiola gave an hilarious reaction to the news.
It was reported yesterday that Bobb will be a part of Stale Solbakken’s next international squad.
Norway have Euro 2024 qualifiers coming up against Cyprus and Spain.
Currently, Solbakken’s side are third in Group A, behind leaders Scotland and Spain. They are just one point behind Spain right now, so two wins would be very useful indeed.
And for the next couple of games, there is a chance that Bobb could make his international debut.
Solbakken has called the youngster up, after he impressed in recent weeks for City.
Today, Pep was asked about Bobb’s call up – and gave a classic Pep reaction…
Pep Guardiola reacts as Manchester City talent Oscar Bobb is called up by Norway
After his press conference ahead of the Champions League game with RB Leipzig, Pep was asked by Norwegian broadcaster TV2 Sport about Bobb.

Pep is absolutely delighted for Bobb, but joked: “My reaction? I said to him ‘You have to bring a bottle of wine to you manager, me, not Solbakken. I helped you to be there!’ Jokes aside, very pleased for him. (It’s the) next step and hopefully Solbakken can realise how good a player he is and what a good lad he is.
“It’s good, he’ll play with Erling, with Odegaard and all the big players Norway has so that’s good for him. Really, really pleased for him.”
There was perhaps an inevitability about Bobb getting a senior Norway call-up.
The youngster has represented his country at every youth level so far.
Brilliant news for Bobb
It is brilliant to see that Bobb has been called up into the senior Norway squad.
Hopefully he can get some minutes against Cyprus and Spain.
Clearly, Solbakken has liked what he has seen from the youngster across his five appearances for City so far this term.

And he certainly has impressed.
Bobb just looks like a typical City player – technical, confident, skilful and versatile. Hopefully, he can keep on impressing Pep.
