Cesc Fabregas played alongside a wide range of impressive players during his playing career.
For example, having represented clubs such as Barcelona, Arsenal, Chelsea and Monaco, the Spaniard shared the pitch with names such as Lionel Messi, Eden Hazard and Thierry Henry among others.
With 737 senior club appearances under his belt, 24 of those games came against Manchester City.
Having been retired since 2023, the former midfielder has now highlighted one player in Pep Guardiola’s side he claims he would have very much enjoyed playing alongside.

Cesc Fabregas admits he’d love to have play with Man City’s Erling Haaland
While previewing Sunday’s Premier League showdown between City and Arsenal, Fabregas had this to say about Erling Haaland in a recent edition of Planet Premier League on the point of how he has failed to score against the Gunners in his two previous league games against them.
He said: “I think when you are talking about this type of player like Haaland, you cannot really say anything like that, because he will just put you to shame in a way.
“He will make it happen. He will break the record. Now he didn’t score, but he will score three.
“He’s too special and too good, and he plays in such a good team all around the pitch that there is always a gap or a way for him to make a difference at any point, at any game, and especially in the form that he’s in now.
“I would never get too complacent, you know, if I was a central defender or an Arsenal player or any player in any other team when we play against Haaland, because the guy is a machine.
“I really like him. I wish I played with a striker of his calibre, and we need to always be on our toes to stop him.”
Any midfielder would love to play with Haaland
During his time with previous club Borussia Dortmund, Haaland scored 86 goals in 89 games across all competitions.
After then joining the Citizens in 2023 for £51m, the striker has gone on to find the back of the net 99 times in 104 matches, winning multiple trophies and individual awards along the way.
Prior to seeing the 24-year-old score a brace against his side in City’s 2-1 win over Brentford last weekend, Thomas Frank said that Haaland is almost impossible to subdue on the pitch.
Having proved himself to be such a deadly goalscorer, it’s easy to see why Fabregas, who delivered 213 assists across his playing career at senior level, has said that he would have loved to have played with the Norwegian.
