Manchester City have one of the strongest squads in the Premier League and in Europe.
Having won four consecutive Premier League titles and are on the hunt for a fifth this time around, Pep Guardiola has some of the best players in England at his disposal at the Etihad Stadium.
In fact, the Blues had more players (14) picked from their squad to feature in the 2024 European Championship than any other top-flight side.
Now that the 2024/25 Premier League season has got underway with City securing a 2-0 away win against Chelsea, a pundit has heaped some serious praise on one particular City player who wasn’t in international action over the summer.

Chris Sutton says Erling Haaland does so much for Man City
Speaking in a recent edition of The Monday Night Club on BBC Radio 5 Live, Chris Sutton had this to say about Erling Haaland and what he offers City on the pitch following his recent performance against Chelsea.
He said: “I just think he is so highly intelligent.
“There has to be a patience with the position in which he plays, but he is also intelligent in terms of he doesn’t want to drop into, drop deeper into where Bernardo Silva or Kevin De Bruyne is in and clog up their space.
“It’s about occupying the centre-halves. His movement for such a big guy inside the box and how nimble, I mean his finish was brilliant yesterday.
“We saw everything in terms of his touches, his power, his strength, but more than anything, his awareness of where the goalkeeper was, how to finish in that moment.
“That’s why his numbers are so, so phenomenal.”
Haaland is a game-changer for City
During his time at City, Haaland has played in 100 games across all competitions, bagging 91 goals along the way and helping the club win many trophies.
Described by Ruben Dias as having an elite mindset, there’s no denying that the striker has been a top signing for the Manchester club.
Looking back over the recent Chelsea game, the Norwegian only had 17 touches of the ball in total but managed to still score an important goal and open his tally for the new season.
Now that Sutton has highlighted what the 24-year-old does for his side throughout matches despite not touching the ball too often, this should make it clear to any doubters just what Haaland offers his side.
