Manchester City have had a perfect start to their 2024/25 Premier League season.

After beating Manchester United in the Community Shield, City have gone on to win all three of their Premier League games prior to the international break.

Having beat Chelsea 2-0 and Ipswich Town 4-1, last weekend saw Pep Guardiola’s team pick up a 3-1 away victory against West Ham United.

With the Blues now not in action until later this month, a pundit has shared his astonishment at what he’s seen from one particular figure in the City squad so far this season.

Chris Sutton left astonished by Erling Haaland’s latest goalscoring efforts

After seeing Erling Haaland score his 11th hat-trick for City in the recent win against Julen Lopetegui’s side, Chris Sutton had this to say about the striker’s numbers in a recent edition of It’s All Kicking Off.

He said: “It is unbelievable, isn’t it though? I mean, his numbers, his hat-tricks and we all bang on about the strength of the Premier League. He’s not finding it difficult, is he?”

Haaland has been crucial for City

Once the West Ham game ended, Jamie Redknapp said that Haaland is looking better than ever right now.

Having now started his third season at the Manchester club, the 24-year-old has scored 97 goals in 102 appearances across all competitions.

With three Premier League games now completed in this latest campaign, the striker has found the back of the net on seven occasions, scoring his tenth and 11th City hat-trick along the way.

Taking into account how Haaland has won the Golden Boot in each of his two Premier League campaigns with City and already looks to be in with a strong chance of winning it for a third time this season, it’s easy to see why Sutton thinks the striker doesn’t find it difficult to score goals consistently in the Premier League.
