Christian Pulisic claims £54m Man City player can do something better than anyone else in the world

Manchester City have a significant number of players in their squad who are accustomed to playing at the top level on a regular basis.

After helping the Manchester club become the first side to win four consecutive Premier League trophies, 14 players from the City squad were involved in the 2024 European Championship, which is more than any other side in the division had in action over the summer.

With Pep Guardiola’s side now on the hunt to win a fifth league title in a row and further strengthen their status as the strongest squad of players in England, one player, who knows what it takes to play in the Premier League and in Europe for a top side, has made a claim regarding one of City’s current stars.

De Bruyne’s passing ability makes him a special player

Pulisic isn’t the only player to highlight the Belgian for this particular aspect of his game, as Christian Eriksen also named De Bruyne as the best passer in the world back in August.

City paid £54m to sign the midfielder from Wolfsburg back in the 2015 summer transfer window, meaning that he is the only player to have been at the club before Pep Guardiola was appointed as the club’s manager in 2016.

During his time at the club, De Bruyne has made 388 appearances across all competitions, bagging 103 goals, supplying 171 assists and lifting multiple trophies along the way.

Despite only playing in four of City’s five Premier League games this season, the 33-year-old has made more passes into the penalty area (19) than any other player in the division.

This highlights just how much danger his passes can cause for opposition defences and backs up why Pulisic thinks he’s better at it than any other player in the world.
