Manchester City have cashed in on many players in recent years during previous transfer windows.
In the recent summer transfer window, City made £111m in profit from the six players they sold according to Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol.
Looking back to the 2023 summer window, the Manchester club sold a handful of players after winning the Treble.
Now though one of those players who waved goodbye to the Etihad Stadium in 2023 has been hailed for one particular thing he used to do on the pitch by a pundit and former top-flight star.

Darren Bent hails Riyad Mahrez
When building his dream African Premier League XI, Darren Bent had this to say on talkSPORT (4/9 6:44 PM) about Riyad Mahrez after not including him in his team.
He said: “The reason why Mahrez is not in it [is] because he plays a particular position that someone else plays so he can’t [go in].
“Mohamed Salah, that’s why Mahrez is not in there because of Mohamed Salah.
“Mahrez has probably got the best first touch on the run.”
Mahrez was a top signing for City
City paid £60m (via BBC Sport) to sign the winger from Leicester City back in the 2018 summer transfer window.
During his five years at the club, Mahrez made 236 appearances for the Citizens across all competitions, scoring 78 goals, providing 56 assists and lifting multiple trophies along the way.
This isn’t the first time the Algerian’s technical ability has been pointed out, as Phil Foden said back in May that Mahrez had a better first touch than him.
Despite having a fabulous first touch and winning more than one Premier League trophy, the fact that Salah has scored 214 goals in 352 games for Liverpool makes it easy to see why Bent put him in his African XI over Mahrez.
