Manchester City still admire Wolves No.7 Pedro Neto – a player Pep Guardiola wanted to sign in 2017.
That is according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.
So, what was said about Pedro Neto and Manchester City? Let’s take a look…
Manchester City still admire Pedro Neto
Well, it was Spanish news outlet SPORT who claimed back in 2017 that Manchester City wanted to sign the Portuguese sensation from Braga.
It was Wolves who eventually used their connections to sign Neto in an £18m deal.
The Portugal international has largely impressed at Molineux, with Ornstein now confirming that Manchester City still admire the 23-year-old almost seven years on.
Writing in a Q&A for The Athletic, the reliable journalist stated: “No expectation of him leaving Wolves in January. Summer could well be a different story. Man City like him, as do a couple of other big clubs. We know Arsenal have a long-standing admiration but there have been no recent overtures from them.”

Neto has scored one goal while also impressively providing eight assists in just 11 Premier League appearances so far this season, with one of those coming in Manchester City’s 2-1 defeat at Molineux.
Pedro Neto not the only winger Manchester City are looking at
If a deal for Neto fails to materialise, there is another electric winger that plays on the right – and also cuts inside on his left foot – who could join Manchester City in Michael Olise.

Luke Edwards of the Telegraph told the BBC earlier this week that the Etihad Stadium is a potential destination for the Crystal Palace No.7 this summer, when his £60m release clause becomes active.
Having lost Riyad Mahrez and Cole Palmer in that area of the pitch last summer, Guardiola certainly seems keen to add a fresh face in that department this year – be sure to keep an eye out for developments.
