Manchester City have seen a fair number of players leave the club in recent years.
For example, the Blues have seen the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Ilkay Gundogan, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus, among others, wave goodbye to the Etihad Stadium to start new chapters elsewhere.
Even though no one from Pep Guardiola’s current squad has left the club as of yet, one of their key players has apparently been on the receiving end of some persuasive words from one of his international teammates in an effort to try and lure him away from City.

Dani Carvajal says he’s been trying to convince Rodri to join Real Madrid
Speaking in a recent interview with Cope, Dani Carvajal had this to say when asked if he would take Rodri at Real Madrid.
He said: “Yes, without a doubt. I tell him that every day.
“I tell him that there is no sun in Manchester, that he is from Madrid and that we need him in the team. But he gives me the runaround, telling me that he has a contract and that there are no clauses.
“It would be a great signing without a doubt, he would fit in perfectly.”
Rodri cannot leave City
City paid £62m to sign the midfielder from Atletico Madrid back in the 2019 summer transfer window.
Since then, he’s gone on to make 257 appearances for the Blues across all competitions, scoring 26 goals and delivering 30 assists along the way.
Having played a key role in the Manchester club’s recent trophy hauls, including by scoring the winning goal in their Champions League final win over Inter Milan, it’s undeniable that Rodri is a crucial player for City.
Described as a “Rolls-Royce” by Teddy Sheringham, it’s understandable why Carvajal would want to see the City star join him at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, we and most City supporters would feel that it would be disastrous if Rodri were to leave the Manchester club anytime soon, especially to a European rival.
