With 35 goals in the competition, he has broken the all-time goal record for a 42-game campaign and that too with five games left to play in the league.
As Manchester City look like favourites to win the Premier League, Paul Merson has picked Erling Haaland in his Team of the Season.
“Who else? It’s got to be him up front. To do what he has done this season, at his age, is ridiculous. He looks like a 21-year-old playing in an Under-12s league! People say, ‘oh if I played for Manchester City, I’d score that many.’
“No. You wouldn’t. He’s a machine. And it’s ridiculous how many goals he has scored. These are historic numbers. He’s been different class. And I don’t know how you stop him. It’s scary”, he told GiveMeSport.

It would not be reactionary to make the claim that English football is yet to have seen a goalscorer as natural as the Norwegian No.9.

Despite still being a young player, Haaland has well and truly proven in sky blue why he is the definition of a generational talent.
