Wayne Rooney has heaped praise on Erling Haaland ahead of the Premier League title decider between Manchester City and Arsenal.
The D.C. United manager is not the Manchester United legend to admire the £51.2 million (Eurosport) man, with Rio Ferdinand also dubbing his impact as ‘astonishing.’
As Manchester City host Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night, Wayne Rooney only has good things to say about Erling Haaland.
Wayne Rooney raves about Erling Haaland ahead of Man City vs Arsenal
The youngster is the top scorer in European football currently, with a staggering 48 goals in all competitions this season.
The 22-year-old, who has often been criticised for potentially worsening City with his arrival has managed to silence all his critics by continuing to shatter record after record for a side that could win the treble.
Wayne Rooney, who was previewing the heavyweight clash between Manchester City and Arsenal admitted to being floored by Erling Haaland.

“Erling Haaland is the best footballer in the world right now. Lionel Messi is the greatest but at this moment, nobody is playing better than a striker who, even though I broke records in that position takes my breath away with the levels he’s reaching”, he told the Times.
“He’s the best in the world because of the numbers he’s posting, the performances he’s putting in and the mentality he shows. If you’re looking at who is going to win the Ballon D’Or then it has got to be him, providing he keeps up his form of this season.”
“And why wouldn’t he? A record of 224 goals in 264 games is the mark of a player whose standards don’t drop.”
Arsenal will be wary of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, who as he explained at length is the most devastating player in world football without a shadow of a doubt.
