Luis Campos – Director of Football at PSG – believes Manchester City target Warren Zaire-Emery is of the same calibre as Jude Bellingham.

That is according to Le Parisien.

So, what was said about Warren Zaire-Emery? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well – according to Fabrizio Romano – Manchester City asked for the French wonderkid when PSG approached them over the signing of Bernardo Silva this summer, ignoring the offering of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Marco Verratti.

The reliable Italian journalist added that Manchester City will continue to follow Zaire-Emery.

Now, an interesting detail about the 17-year-old prodigy has emerged.

Le Parisien believe PSG’s Campos decided against rivalling Real Madrid for the signing of Bellingham this summer, as the Portuguese negotiator feels Zaire-Emery is already of the same calibre.

The teenager has certainly enjoyed a similarly meteoritic rise like the England international.

Zaire-Emery is already a regular for PSG, which speaks volumes when you consider that the French giants can pretty much afford to sign anyone they want.

The Montreuil-born prospect boasts 36 appearances for PSG, three of which have come in the Champions League, and he looks set to have a seriously bright future.

Manchester City have a chance to tempt Zaire-Emery away

In normal circumstances, Zaire-Emery seems like an ambitious target for Manchester City.

However – as shown on Transfermarkt – the PSG No.33’s contract expires in July 2025, meaning that he will only have 12 months remaining on his deal when the 2023/24 campaign is over.

Should Zaire-Emery decide not to sign a new contract at that point in time, then PSG would have to consider a sale, or risk losing their precocious talent for nothing in 2025.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Manchester City continue to keep tabs on the Bellingham-like sensation after his eye-catching rise in Paris.
