‘Disgruntled shadow’: Richard Keys tips 23-year-old Manchester City player for Real Madrid transfer

Erling Haaland joined Manchester City only in the summer of 2022, but the striker is already being tipped to leave Pep Guardiola’s side for Real Madrid.

Former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys believes that Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is not very happy at the moment.

The beIN Sport presenter has tipped Haaland to move to Real Madrid.

Keys thinks that the 23-year-old Norway international striker is frustrated at the lack of chances for him.

Haaland has scored eight goals in eight Premier League matches for City so far this season.

However, the striker has not scored in his last three competitive matches for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Haaland struggled to make an impact against Wolverhampton Wanderers and was largely anonymous against Arsenal in the Premier League this past weekend.

Richard Keys on Erling Haaland, Manchester City and Real Madrid

Keys wrote on his blog: “City are the most expensive team ever assembled and they boast a front man who is arguably the best in the world.

“They starved him of the ball again on Sunday and he left a frustrated, disgruntled shadow of what we saw last season.

“Ok. City are enjoyable to watch if you like your football served up in precise exhibition moments.

“And Haaland couldn’t have had any complaints about how things went last season, but I guarantee you the way Madrid and Bellingham are playing right now won’t have escaped his notice.

“We read that City want him to sign a new deal. If what we saw Sunday goes on much longer it’ll be Haaland wanting to do the escaping.

“It’s one goal in six now – and it’s not his fault. He can’t score if he isn’t seeing the ball.”

My View: Erling Haaland will not leave Manchester City anytime soon

In my opinion, Erling Haaland is not going to leave Manchester City anytime soon.

And, I am confident that City will not sell the striker in the coming years.

City are a wealthy club who won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season.

Under manager Pep Guardiola, City play arguably the best football in the world.

Yes, the Citizens are going through a tricky spell at the moment, but that does mean that Haaland will be itching to leave.

Of course, Real Madrid are a massive club, arguably the biggest in the world, but City are now among the elite in European football.

City do not sell any player unless they want to.
