Craig Burley has said that Manchester City megastar Erling Haaland was extremely uninvolved in his side’s 2-1 defeat to Wolves
Speaking to ESPN UK, the controversial pundit gave his two cents on the Norwegian striker’s performance at the Molineux Stadium.
It’s safe to say that Craig Burley was far from blown away by Erling Haaland after Manchester City faltered against Wolves.
Craig Burley says Erling Haaland was anonymous as Wolves beat Manchester City
Branded as an ‘amazing guy’ by Ilkay Gundogan, the 23-year-old was on the periphery of things throughout the afternoon.
While Haaland carries an impending threat that justifies his lack of involvement in games in general, he barely got a touch of the ball as City struggled to carve out any clear-cut chances for him.
After Manchester City tasted defeat against Wolves, Craig Burley said that he barely remembers Erling Haaland and his involvement in any of the proceedings on Saturday.

“Erling Haaland, I can hardly remember getting a kick! I just don’t remember him being involved in the game much at all. And again, that might be down to the service”, he said.
Erling Haaland was the least of his side’s problems
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola did agree with Craig Burley as he also felt that Wolves managed to keep Erling Haaland quiet.
Being City’s protagonist, it is natural that a lion’s share of the post-match discourse will be centred around the treble-winner.
But the fact of the matter is that the Sky Blues were a mess in possession.
All of their attack stemmed from Jeremy Doku and wide areas in general as the chief creators of the side in Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden were never handed the ball.
That was also down to Mateo Kovacic as well as the Sky Blues’ centre-backs for not progressing the ball well enough through to the centre.
Also, Manchester City’s ball retention was in the pits as especially in the second half, they were extremely sloppy.
As a result, Erling Haaland was not to blame for how his side were just uncharacteristically shocking on the ball against Wolves.
