Eden Hazard has claimed that one particular Arsenal player is better than Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.

Having scored 110 goals and delivered 85 assists in 352 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions, the former winger certainly knows what it takes to be a top player in the Premier League.

Now though, the Belgian has come out with a claim that will surely surprise a lot of City supporters about one of the Manchester club’s star players.

In a recent video shared on the talkSPORT TikTok channel, Hazard had this to say when asked who he feels the best player from Norway is right now.

He said: “[Martin] Odegaard.

After then being asked why he picked the Arsenal star over Haaland, Hazard followed up with this.

I say Odegaard because I played with him.”

After making his £130m move to Real Madrid back in the 2019 summer transfer window, Hazard featured in three games with Odegaard during the 2020/21 season, before the midfielder made his initial loan move to Arsenal in January 2021.

Haaland vs Odegaard

In 153 games for the North London club across all competitions, the 25-year-old has found the back of the net 35 times and delivered 25 assists.

In comparison, Haaland has scored 90 goals in 98 appearances for City, in addition to winning numerous trophies and individual awards such as being named as UEFA’s Best Player in Europe for 2023.

While both players are undeniably top stars for their clubs, it may surprise some City fans that Hazard picked Odegaard over Haaland due to the fact that the striker has achieved more in England in a shorter period of time than the midfielder has at Arsenal.

However, even though the former Chelsea winger only shared the pitch in Madrid with Odegaard on three occasions, this makes it easy to see why he chose his former teammates over the City striker.
