Ederson has been speaking about one man in particular at Manchester City, believing he is simply the best ever.

The Brazilian goalkeeper is gearing up for the final week of the 2023/24 season, with Tottenham Hotspur the opponents tonight in the Premier League.

It is City’s game in hand, and it’s a chance to get their noses ahead of Arsenal going into the final round of fixtures on Sunday.

It will be a tough game as always. But City are gunning to be the first club ever to win four Premier League titles in a row, so the motivation is most definitely there.

Then, of course, it’s the FA Cup final against Manchester United at Wembley.

Fans would certainly love to see the club do the Double, and it would further strengthen Pep Guardiola’s case for being the greatest manager ever.

For Ederson though, he is already that…

Pep Guardiola is approaching the end of his eighth season in charge at the Etihad Stadium.

It has been a hugely successful stint for him, and fans hold out hope that he will sign a contract extension at some point.

At the moment, he stands to leave the club at the end of his deal in the summer of 2025.

It is difficult to imagine Manchester City being managed by someone else at this point. For Ederson, there is simply no one who even comes close to the £378,000-a-week Spaniard.

He told the club’s official website: “Pep is the same as a GPS

“You put in the address, and it gives you the alternatives and the best one for us. Then you just follow, follow and follow.

“Pep is the best ever and I think he is living football 24 hours a day, it is amazing.

“Now is no different and he is pushing the team because it is a big opportunity for everybody in this club to make history.”

Plenty of others have said similar to Ederson in recent times. Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes believes Pep is the greatest.

And Aston Villa manager Unai Emery thinks the same.

A fourth straight PL title will strengthen Pep’s case

Pep is undoubtedly right up there with the greatest managers the game has ever seen.

For many, there is no longer a debate. Pep has achieved remarkable things at City, but also with Barcelona and Bayern beforehand.

He has constantly reinvented, and has had a simply colossal influence on English football.

On Sunday he could make history as the first manager to ever win a fourth consecutive Premier League title, and that would just be phenomenal.

Then, adding the FA Cup on top of that would further strengthen his case as being the best manager of all-time.
