Florian Wirtz’s move to Liverpool has been one of the most exciting transfers across world football this summer.

The fact that Wirtz was reportedly unconvinced about joining Manchester City gave fans and pundits alike to further break down the ramifications of his switch to Arne Slot’s side.

Rayan Cherki came through the door at the Etihad Stadium as the alternative to the former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder.

With Cherki suffering a thigh injury, he could be sidelined for two months — making it tough to determine how he compares to the German international in the meantime.

However, Manchester City News confirmed that Pep Guardiola was keen to sign Wirtz, which further highlights why he is a cracking player.
