Erling Haaland is a superstar in his own right, but the Norwegian striker couldn’t help but gush over the quality of his Manchester City teammate Kevin De Bruyne.
It is a huge day today in the Premier League as City seek to go top of the table with a win over Liverpool at Anfield.
Arsenal’s victory over Brentford last night means the Gunners have gone top, and City are looking to beat the Reds in their own backyard to get their noses in front.
A top performance will be required to beat them at Anfield, and players like Haaland and De Bruyne will be required to step up if City are to win.
Speaking ahead of the game, Erling Haaland raved over the Belgian maestro…
Erling Haaland in awe of ‘fantastic’ Kevin De Bruyne as Man City prepare to face Liverpool

It stands to be City’s toughest game of the season so far.
Liverpool are rock-solid at home and nothing less than a top team effort will yield three points for the visitors.
Occasions like today are where you need your big-game players to really come to the fore – and Pep Guardiola will hope his destructive duo are ready and raring to go.
The combination of Haaland and De Bruyne is simply amazing to watch at times, and the striker couldn’t help but laud his teammate this week. He said (via mancity.com): “He is a fantastic footballer and with him things click.
“I enjoy playing with him and of course when one player gets injured it is not good for the team.
“Injuries are a big part of football sadly, and you have to try to make the best out of it when people are injured. They have to come back stronger.”
Haaland must count his lucky stars having De Bruyne as a teammate
It has been incredible watching these two players play in the same team.
The duo have an almost telepathic understanding at this point, and Haaland must be delighted having someone with the vision and ball-playing ability of £55 million star De Bruyne.
The 32-year-old can do things with a football that no one else can, and Haaland must count his lucky stars that he’s got someone like De Bruyne pulling the strings. Previously, Haaland has hailed De Bruyne for always supplying ‘perfect’ balls for him.
Hopefully later today at Anfield, we will see the pair combining once again during a big win for City.
