Erling Haaland lauded one of his Manchester City teammates for his brilliant display in his side’s 2-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur.
Erling Haaland himself will rightly be hailed for his display as he had an exceptional game during City’s most important night of the season.
The £51 million man scored two goals and ultimately, that aspect of his performance will grab the headlines.
Haaland praises “incredible” Man City player after Tottenham win
But the 23-year-old’s all-round showing was nothing short of remarkable, with his link-up play and performance in duels being virtually spotless from minute one.
However, Haaland was not the only City player who can hold his head high after departing the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Several of his teammates arguably played some of their best football of the season where they were required to the most.
One of them was Manchester City number two Stefan Ortega against Tottenham, who Erling Haaland hailed after the clash.
Speaking to the club’s in-house media, the City goalscorer said: “Ederson was fantastic today and [Stefan] Ortega was Man of the Match. What can I say? He’s incredible and such a good guy as well so I’m happy for him.”
Apart from Erling Haaland, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola felt that if not for how Stefan Ortega fared against Tottenham, Arsenal would have been crowned Premier League champions on Tuesday.
Rodri was also left speechless by the German’s showing.

Stefan Ortega has become a cult hero at the Etihad Stadium
In our view, the £55,000-a-week man has become a cult hero for City with his heroics against Spurs.
Erling Haaland would have been unable to seal the win for Manchester City against Tottenham if not for Stefan Ortega stepping up the way he did on numerous occasions.
If Pep Guardiola’s men win the title on the final day of the season to win four titles in a row, the former Arminia Bielefeld goalkeeper’s performance will be discussed for years.
Such was the impact Ortega had and that too off the bench, which makes his performance all the more impressive.
When Stefan Ortega hangs up his boots, his masterclass against Tottenham will be the one display that is associated with his career.
The Manchester City fanbase will always have a special place in their hearts for the 31-year-old now.
