Manchester City have announced the signing of Norwegian wonderkid Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg.
A month ago, it was reported that Nypan snubbed interest from the likes of Arsenal and Aston Villa in favour of a move to the Etihad Stadium.
And on Thursday evening, Manchester City confirmed the 18-year-old’s arrival on a five-year contract.
The Citizens have reportedly paid £12.5million for Nypan, who becomes Rosenborg’s most expensive sale.
Nypan will link up with Norway teammate Erling Haaland, who quickly took to social media to welcome his compatriot to Ashton New Road.

Erling Haaland welcomes Sverre Nypan to Manchester City
Haaland took to his Instagram stories to share Man City’s post confirming the arrival of Nypan, and he seemed buzzing with the news.
He wrote: “Welcome Sverre!!”. He also included emojis of a high five and a sky blue heart.
City legend Paul Dickov was also one of the early commenters who lauded Nypan’s arrival at the club.

Nypan hasn’t been capped at senior level for Norway, so he and Haaland are yet to share a pitch.
However, this is now set to change – it shouldn’t be long before both are playing alongside one another for club and country.
