Erling Haaland says something rare has actually happened to him for the ‘first time’ in ages

Erling Haaland would have been delighted after his strong start to the 2024/2025 season by scoring in Manchester City’s 2-0 win against Chelsea on Sunday.

Tony Cascarino recently questioned Haaland as a player as he felt he barely has any impact during games.

But 19 minutes into the contest at Stamford Bridge, the Manchester City striker silenced his doubters yet again by firing the visitors into the lead.

Haaland ghosted inside the box behind Levi Colwill before bullying Marc Cucurella and dinking the ball above Robert Sanchez.

It seems like the £375,000-a-week man is ready to have yet another phenomenal goalscoring season.

Haaland shares something really positive that Man City would love

Last season, the 24-year-old’s season was hampered by one major injury in particular, with the star striker also not looking at his brilliant best for a while after returning to full fitness.

For a goalscorer who has always been renowned for being extremely clinical, the Leeds-born frontman was also uncharacteristically missing gilt-edged chances last season — with his wasteful displays against Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium and West Ham United at the London Stadium springing to mind.

Yet, the former Borussia Dortmund marksman emerged as the Premier League’s Golden Boot winner with 27 goals; an insight into just how high he has raised the bar for goalscoring in English football.

Haaland has now revealed that for the first time in a while, he has felt pain-free — which can allow him to play without any restrictions.

As quoted by journalist Simon Bajkowski, he said: “In general, I don’t have any pain in my body which is the first time for a long time. It’s amazing, you can push yourself more because you don’t have something in the back of your head.”

Erling Haaland can have his best season at Man City now

If Haaland continues to feel pain-free, he could have his best-ever season as a Manchester City player.

The Norwegian revealed that for once, he feels that he can push himself at all times during a game.

Considering Haaland is implying that he still felt pain during his first two seasons at the Etihad Stadium and yet, registered the numbers he did could mean he could unlock another level to his game.

For Manchester City’s potentially primary title rival in Arsenal, the two-time Premier League winner’s revelation would emerge as a worry.
