Erling Haaland sends five-word reaction to Man City’s 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth

Erling Haaland would have been frustrated after Manchester City’s 2-1 loss at the hands of AFC Bournemouth.

For much of the contest, Haaland was isolated up front against Andoni Iraola’s side.

The Manchester City striker has now failed to score in four out of 10 Premier League games this season.

The Norwegian would have been hoping to go on a goalscoring run after scoring against Southampton last weekend.

However, against Bournemouth, Haaland’s statistics painted a picture of a disappointing day of football for him.

The 24-year-old looked like he had suffered an injury during the game as he was hobbling around the pitch, especially after Lewis Cook’s dangerous tackle on him.

Erling Haaland reacts to Man City vs Bournemouth

Jamie Redknapp commented on Haaland being rested in City’s 2-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup even when the Premier League winners needed an impact substitute as a decision that summed up Pep Guardiola’s lack of desire to go through to the next round.

Despite being well-rested, the Leeds-born striker could not impact proceedings against the Cherries.

Haaland reacted to Manchester City’s latest loss against Bournemouth by taking to his Instagram story and writing: “Head done. Back to work.”

The former Borussia Dortmund goalscorer missed a gilt-edged chance in the latter stages of the clash to score the equaliser for his side.

Haaland had the goal gaping in front of him.

However, the ball seemed to be too far away from the two-time Premier League as his outstretched left leg could only guide it towards hitting the post.

Recent Haaland admission from Pep Guardiola applied against Bournemouth

After Manchester City’s 1-0 victory against Southampton, Pep Guardiola commented on Haaland’s struggles despite his goal by stating that the in-form marksman is constantly surrounded by defenders who physically impose themselves upon him.

“It is not easy for him because every cross is a penalty for Erling [Haaland], the way they pull him. We create more but we could not score the second, but Erling is a guarantee for us.”

Bournemouth deployed a similar tactic.

However, unlike against the Saints, Manchester City’s chance-creation was rather blunt.

As a result, it seemed like a relatively simple task for Andoni Iraola’s side to tame Haaland.

Judging by the Manchester City goalscorer’s response on Instagram, he remains up for the fight.

Whether his teammates are as well could decide the Premier League title race.
