Haaland’s goalscoring exploits at Borussia Dortmund and RB Salzburg suggested that he was set to be a successful summer signing for Pep Guardiola’s side two years.
However, the Manchester City marksman has managed to score goals at such a remarkable rate since his move to England that he may already be one of the Premier League’s best-ever signings.
Recently, Paul Scholes lauded Haaland as one of the Premier League’s greatest strikers of all time already.
Jermaine Pennant claimed Aguero remains superior to Haaland as well as Thierry Henry — claiming he has surpassed every other goalscorer to have ever graced the English top-flight.

The two-time Premier League winner is having a spectacular season for both club and country so far.
During Norway’s 3-0 victory against Slovenia in the UEFA Nations League where the Leeds-born marksman scored a brace, the star striker also became his country’s all-time top goalscorer with 34 goals in 36 games.
Tony Cascarino claimed that Haaland has raised the bar in such a way since his move to the Etihad Stadium that he guarantees becoming the Premier League’s top goalscorer at the start of every season.
Cascarino said on talkSPORT (12/10/2024, 7:10 am): “I take him for granted really. He got a couple in mid-week as well, didn’t he, for Norway? He hit the ground running, which he did early doors. I take it a little bit for granted with Erling Haaland, probably a bit unfairly because I just know that if you said to me, what’s the most certain before the start of the season, I would have said Erling Haaland top goalscorer.”
“That’s not rocket science, is it? It’s the most obvious. Unless he gets injured, he will be the top scorer. He was last year when he didn’t particularly have a great year. He got 27. Ridiculous numbers.”
Previously, Tony Cascarino claimed Haaland has “little impact” on games where he does not get on the scoresheet.
Haaland’s goalscoring exploits have left other pundits bow down to his brilliance as well, especially this season.
After Manchester City’s 4-1 thrashing of West Ham United, Paul Merson promised Haaland had won the Golden Boot this campaign just three league games as he scored eight goals by the time.

Since the former Byrne forward has made his move to the Premier League, he has raised the goalscoring standards in the country in a way not many strikers have across any division.

After the international break, the in-form striker will be hoping to get back to scoring goals in the league for Manchester City after failing to do so against both Newcastle United and Fulham.
