Dani Olmo has been speaking about his future, after winning Euro 2024 with Spain – and the Manchester City target is clear on what he wants from his next club.

Olmo was one of the standout performers in Germany, and finished as the joint-winner of the Golden Boot.

Olmo really impressed with his technical ability operating as a number 10 in front of Rodri and Fabian Ruiz and supplying the likes of Alvaro Morata, Yamine Lamal and Nico Williams.

During the tournament amid his great performances, there has been a lot of speculation about his future.

Olmo has a release clause worth around £51 million, and RB Leipzig recently pushed back the date on which it will expire. It will now expire on July 20.

There are a few clubs in the race including City, and Olmo has now spoken again about his future.

Olmo has been linked with City for quite some time.

Apparently, the club actually looked at him a year ago as a potential Bernardo Silva replacement. But the Portuguese ended up staying put.

This summer, it has been suggested City could move for Olmo as a potential long-term successor to Kevin De Bruyne.

But there was also a claim that some City officials have reservations about his injury record. Olmo has missed 68 games for club and country in the last three years.

But there is no denying his talent, and it is no surprise he has several clubs trying to land him.

It was claimed on Wednesday morning that Atletico Madrid were the new favourites to sign Olmo, and the player has now commented on his situation.

He said (as quoted by Goal): “We’ll see. Yesterday we celebrated all day and now I’m at the campus. The people who deal with that (transfer market) already know what I want to do. I don’t know if I’ll stay in Germany, we’ll see.

“I want to be somewhere where I’m valued and loved and what I want to do is win. There are several options, we’ll see what happens.

“The truth is that between the Euro cup, the celebration and the campus I have seen little of that. What I want is an ambitious project and I want to win titles.”

City can offer titles, but perhaps not game time

Olmo says he wants to win titles and there is perhaps no better club to join for this than Manchester City.

Under Pep Guardiola, the Citizens have dominated over the last few years, recently winning their fourth Premier League title in a row.

But something Olmo will likely be weighing up is how much he would actually play at the Etihad if he did make the move.

Undoubtedly, he would get more game time at Atletico or Barcelona, who are keen to re-sign the former La Masia prospect.

If De Bruyne and Bernardo both stay, then he would potentially struggle to be a regular starter in his first season, so he would have to decide if he’d perhaps be willing to be on the fringes for a year.
