Craig Burley has backed Josko Gvardiol to become a smash success at Manchester City after the transfer is finalised.

Speaking on ESPN FC, the outspoken pundit gave his views on the potential coup, after RB Leipzig sporting director Max Eberl confirmed that a move could become official in a matter of a few days.

As Josko Gvardiol looks like he will become a Manchester City player imminently, Craig Burley has said that he would be a fan of the transfer.

Craig Burley gives imminent Josko Gvardiol to Manchester City transfer a thumbs up

Branded as ‘extraordinary’ by the Bundesliga’s official website, the 21-year-old, who could join City in a deal worth £85.9 million, as per a report on Monday is classed by many as the best young defender in the world.

In fact, it would not even come as a surprise if Gvardiol becomes the standout centre-back in world football sooner rather than later.

Now, even Craig Burley believes Josko Gvardiol would be one hell of a signing for Manchester City.

“He is an excellent player, no doubt about that. He fits all the correct profile for spending a lot of money, as Gab [Marcotti] said. He’s a younger player, super talented, great experience already.”

“It makes sense and once again, it strengthens a position that became very important for City.”

Josko Gvardiol is destined for greatness

It is hard to disagree with Craig Burley, as it seems inevitable that Josko Gvardiol will set the world alight in a Manchester City shirt.

However, with how complete the Croatian’s profile already is, he would have been likely to succeed at any club he joined.

As an out-and-out defender, Gvardiol’s reading of the game, tackling and athleticism is already at a world-class level at 21 years of age.

In possession, not only is the Leipzig fan favourite a tremendous passer but his ball-carrying is on the level of a prodigious left-back’s.

Under the guidance of Pep Guardiola of all coaches as well, there is no way in which one can foresee Josko Gvardiol not reaching the very top.
