As it seems like Jeremy Doku is set to become a Manchester City player, it is worth revisiting the praise Thierry Henry gave him in April this year.
Speaking to Amazon Prime, the French icon gave his two cents on the Rennes sensation, who Fabrizio Romano claimed on Monday will join City for a deal worth £51.3 million.
It’s safe to say that Thierry Henry is a huge admirer of Manchester City-bound winger Jeremy Doku.
What Thierry Henry said about Manchester City-bound wonderkid Jeremy Doku
The 21-year-old seems like the man to replace Riyad Mahrez, as the Sky Blues had both him and Michael Olise in mind as his potential successors.
There is no disputing that the Belgian international is easily one of the most talented wingers in world football.
Thierry Henry seems to have always held a high opinion on Jeremy Doku, who may be set to join Manchester City now.

“Rarely in my life have I seen a player come out of a dribble so quickly, extraordinary. Now, injured, not consistent, does he replace himself? We are harder on players like that. If he is good, he is really impregnable.”
Watching Jeremy Doku develop under Pep Guardiola could be a sight to behold
Manchester City could well be signing a special talent in Jeremy Doku if Thierry Henry is head over heels about him.
Considering how Pep Guardiola has elevated young wingers in the past like Pedro Rodriguez, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane, he could well do the same with his club’s soon-to-be latest recruit.
In fact, much like Sterling and Sane at the same age, Doku is blessed with similar attributes, being an incredible dribbler with pace to burn.
But that’s where Guardiola steps in to ensure that the highly-rated talent adds numbers to his game, improves his positioning inside the box and knows when to retain the ball as well as when to take on his full-back.
If Jeremy Doku manages to polish some of his raw traits, we could be looking at a superstar in sky blue.
