FA Cup Third Round draw: Date, start time, who Man City could face, ball numbers, full schedule and more

Manchester City are licking their wounds following Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield, but fans will hope that Monday’s FA Cup third round draw will provide some respite from what has been a bruising few weeks for the club.

Pep Guardiola’s side are now down to fifth in the Premier League table as the Anfield reverse made it seven games without a win in all competitions, by far the worst run of the Catalan’s managerial career.

While City will hope to have returned to winning ways before January’s third round tie, the FA Cup could present an opportunity to help rebuild the club’s shattered confidence as Guardiola and company look to win back the trophy they last won in the 2022/23 treble season.

How many times have Man City won the FA Cup?

Manchester City have won seven FA Cups during their history. Their first success came in 1094, when they beat Bolton Wanderers 1-0 in the final at Crystal Palace in London.

Further successes came in 1934, 1956 and 1969, before post-takeover wins in 2011, 2019 and again in 2023, when they beat Manchester United 2-1 for the second leg of their historic treble.

City also reached last year’s final in a repeat of that contest, but lost 2-1 to their neighbours.
