Marc Guehi has been strongly linked with a move to both Manchester City and Liverpool this summer.
Liverpool have tracked Guehi for ages as they aim to further bolster their centre-back department that already includes the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez and Giovanni Leoni.
However, in the event that both Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake leave this summer, Guehi has caught Manchester City’s eye as a potential addition to their squad.
The England international’s contract at Crystal Palace expires in 2026, which means his future remains increasingly uncertain.

Marc Guehi eyeing Liverpool move despite Man City links
Marc Guehi is one of the Premier League’s best centre-backs and based on how consistent he has been for years, he would perhaps instantly improve any side in the country.
From City’s perspective, Guehi’s praise for John Stones and experience of playing alongside for England would mean that they could form a formidable pair at the back if the Sky Blues completed his signing.
However, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Guehi’s preference remains to sign for Liverpool despite being linked with a move to Manchester City.
Furthermore, talks between Crystal Palace and the Reds are believed to be “ongoing” for a deal to go through before the end of the summer transfer window.
If Guehi, who Declan Rice called “intelligent” stays at Palace, Liverpool will try and sign him in 2026.
Man City could have an in-house Marc Guehi alternative
Ultimately, all the Sky Blues can do is accept that they will be unable to secure the 25-year-old’s services.
However, if Liverpool end up signing Guehi, Manchester City could have an in-house alternative for the FA Cup winner in Abdukodir Khusanov.
Khusanov is similarly quick, composed on the ball, a brilliant tackler and talented enough to become a star for City.
