The Italian journalist has reported that Phillips could finalise his temporary transfer to the East London side on Thursday, with both clubs already starting to exchange the contract in place.

It seems like Pep Guardiola’s men have already started to plan life after Kalvin Phillips.

After all, it was revealed on Tuesday that City had their sights set on signing Porto midfielder Alan Varela as his replacement, who has a release clause worth a whopping €70 million (£59.8 million) in his contract.

However, it was claimed that Liverpool are also interested in signing the Argentine, with Jurgen Klopp intending to bolster his midfield department.
