Fabrizio Romano says club will try to ‘negotiate’ to sign £42m Man City star next week

Fabrizio Romano has revealed a Saudi Pro League club’s plans to sign a certain Manchester City player.

Saudi Arabia represents the new hotspot for players to depart and play their football in during the latter part of their careers — while still being able to remain competitive.

With the growing list of big names heading to the Saudi Pro League, the quality of the division is improving season upon season.

The surprisingly brilliant displays from Aymeric Laporte and N’Golo Kante at Euro 2024 are fine examples of how a player can remain top-class while playing in Saudi Arabia.

Ederson Moraes is one player who will be hoping to remain world-class if he departs to the Middle Eastern nation.

What Fabrizio Romano revealed about Ederson and Al-Ittihad

It was claimed on Sunday by Fabrizio Romano that despite Al-Ittihad’s approach, Manchester City’s valuation to sell Ederson is in the range of £€50 million-€60 million (£42.1 million-£50.5 million) this summer.

However, Romano stated that City’s number 31 is keen on a move to the Saudi Pro League — where his former teammates Laporte and Mahrez have been playing for Al-Nassr and Al-Ahli since last season.

The Italian journalist has revealed a fresh update about the 30-year-old’s future.

Fabrizio Romano has now stated that Al-Ittihad will “negotiate” with Manchester City to sign Ederson next week — who is believed to have “accepted the move.”

Ederson leaving Man City depends on how much Al-Ittihad want to sign him

If Al-Ittihad comply with Manchester City and pay the asking price, it seems like Ederson will be allowed to leave the club.

Much like in previous instances, it does not seem like Pep Guardiola’s men have a hands-off policy on selling one of their most important players — despite the six-time Premier League winner still being an elite player.

Ederson seems to remain keen on a move to the Saudi Pro League — judging by the fact that his move to Al-Ittihad is agreed and as a result, a change of heart seems unlikely.

The ball is now seemingly firmly in the Saudi Arabian side’s court and it will be interesting to see whether their forthcoming negotiations lead to the potential move progressing.
