Manchester City still have work to do in the summer transfer market.
The main focus for the Premier League giants will be to trim down Pep Guardiola’s squad, as the legendary coach made it clear towards the end of last season and after the Wolves clash that he wants to work with a smaller group of players throughout the 2025/26 season.
Manuel Akanji looks set to leave Man City over the coming days, while there is also doubt over the futures of Nathan Ake and Ilkay Gundogan.
There may also be one or two new additions to the squad at Man City, with Fabrizio Romano now stating that there is a 60% chance that one deal gets over the line.

Man City have a 60% chance of signing Gianluigi Donnarumma
Galatasaray are keen on bringing Ederson to Turkey before the summer transfer window shuts, and if that deal goes through, Man City will complete the signing of Gianluigi Donnarumma from PSG.
It was reported this week that Man City are working tirelessly to get a deal done for Donnarumma before Monday’s deadline, and Fabrizio Romano has now stated that there is a 60% chance that will happen.
“I’m still optimistic for the deal to happen. So my percentage is sixty per cent, sixty because between Donnarumma and City is a hundred per cent because he wants to go there. The contract is ready,” Romano told DAZN.
“Between Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain is probably ninety per cent because it’s just about small details, the agreement on the transfer fee is around €30m-€35m, which is very close. What’s needed is Ederson to leave Manchester City in order for Donnarumma to leave the club.”
It remains unclear if Ederson will leave Man City over the coming days, as things have got more complicated following an update that Galatasaray are in talks to sign Donnarumma.
Everyone seems confident that the Italian goalkeeper will move to Manchester; therefore, there must be some guarantee that Ederson will depart the Etihad Stadium.

Fabrizio Romano says there are no big problems between Gianluigi Donnarumma and Man City
Romano is one of those people who seem sure that Donnarumma will be a Man City player, having already agreed personal terms with the Premier League club, with the transfer expert now adding that there are no big problems on the club-to-club side of the deal.
“Donnarumma and Manchester City remains a topic. Negotiations are ongoing between all parties involved. The agreement between Donnarumma and Man City, I keep telling you it’s done,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.
“Manchester City have an agreement with Donnarumma, and he wants to go to Man City. He wants to play for Pep Guardiola.
“Now what’s happening with this case? Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are negotiating the transfer fee, but there are no big problems.
“Paris Saint-Germain obviously want some money instead of having the player out of the project, out of the squad and with a contract, expiring in 2026. Manchester City are willing to pay around €30m, maximum €35m, with some add-ons.
“PSG wanted €50m, but they will not get €50m, so the negotiations are ongoing on the transfer fee for Donnarumma.”
