Inter wing-back Federico Dimarco has praised Man City goalkeeper Ederson following last night’s Champions League final.
The Citizens have finally won the trophy that has long eluded them, beating Inter 1-0 in Istanbul.
Rodri’s goal was the difference on the night.
The Spaniard popped up on the edge of the box to fire past Andre Onana.
Pep Guardiola’s side were nowhere near their best, with nerves potentially playing a big part. But not a single City fan will care.
One man who is waking up to plenty of praise today is Ederson, who came in clutch for City last night at the Ataturk Stadium.
The Brazilian made a shaky start to the game. But he recovered well and came to City’s rescue a few times in the second-half.
Federico Dimarco praises Man City star Ederson after Champions League final
After the game, Inter player Dimarco – who was perhaps their best player on the night – singled out Ederson saying (via Sempre Inter): “Of course. We had clear chances, but Ederson made some great saves. We’re so disappointed.”

Ederson first came to City’s rescue when Manuel Akanji allowed Lautaro Martinez to collect a loose ball, thinking Ederson was coming to claim it.
Ederson then denied Romelu Lukaku from close-range, for one of his best ever saves.
And late on, Ederson relieved the pressure by collected one high cross.
Right at the death he then punched one away, just before referee Syzmon Marciniak blew the final whistle.
Ederson gave his best performance ever for Man City in Champions League final
This was Ederson’s finest moment in a City shirt.
Yes he made a nervy start to the game.
But City may not be waking up as Champions of Europe today had it not been for his heroics in the second-half.

That save from Lukaku will probably never be forgotten by City fans. It was as good as Rodri’s goal.
It was brilliant to see Ederson have his moment, because the £100,000-a-week star has come in for some criticism this season.
He is a world-class goalkeeper. And his performance last night was arguably his best for the club – given the stakes.
