Manchester City yesterday won the FA Cup, meaning the Trebles remains on.

The captain came up with two goals, the first coming inside the first 12 seconds.

Many fans were still taking their seats as the German maestro sent a volley flying into the top corner.

United got back into the game when they were awarded a penalty for a handball by Jack Grealish. The controversial decision saw Bruno Fernandes convert from the spot.

But Gundogan struck again in the second-half, Kevin De Bruyne picking him out on the edge of the box for another volley.

It made it’s way through a sea of players to find the bottom corner, with David De Gea unable to keep it out.

City controlled the game and were relatively comfortable throughout.

United showed very little attacking threat in the game. Their best player was Alejandro Garnacho, who came on for Jadon Sancho in the second-half.

He was a livewire and cause a few problems.

But on the whole, City were comfortable and never really got out of second gear. And there were just brilliant individual performances all over the pitch for City. ITV pundit Roy Keane was particularly impressed with Rodri in midfield.

Winning at Wembley was the perfect outcome ahead of Istanbul next weekend.
