John Terry believes Frank Lampard was better than Manchester City maestro Kevin De Bruyne.

The Chelsea legend was asked to compare the former Everton boss to several iconic midfielders, including De Bruyne in a video with GOAL (via Twitter).

Frank Lampard famously spent a season at Manchester City, with 11 goals and six assists to his name in all competitions during the 2014/2015 campaign.

Recently, John Terry also ranked Vincent Kompany below Liverpool colossus Virgil van Dijk amongst the greatest centre-backs in Premier League history.

In the last few years, a debate has emerged about where De Bruyne ranks amongst the best of the best in English football, considering his incredible impact at the Etihad Stadium.

But John Terry believes former Chelsea and England teammate Frank Lampard was a superior midfielder to Kevin De Bruyne.

“Still Lamps, for me”, he told GOAL (via Twitter).

The retired centre-back also picked Frank Lampard over the likes of Steven Gerrard, Paul Scholes, Mesut Ozil, Patrick Vieira, N’Golo Kante, Michael Essien and Yaya Toure.

Manchester City legend Kevin De Bruyne has outdone Frank Lampard

Considering John Terry dominated English football in the same Chelsea side as Frank Lampard, it is no surprise that he favours him over Kevin De Bruyne.

However, in our view, the Belgian playmaker is on another level to the Englishman.

Considering both midfielders have won virtually every single trophy in club football, the fact that De Bruyne is a superior all-round player than Lampard.

Frank Lampard is a better goalscorer than Kevin De Bruyne but as a passer, creator and dribbler, the latter trumps him by a significant margin.

Even defensively, the treble-winner’s workrate is on a par with Lampard’s, which makes the comparison between both players quite one-sided in the former’s favour.
