Erling Haaland has proved himself to be a key figure for Manchester City.

With two seasons under his belt at the Etihad Stadium, the striker has scored 90 goals in 98 appearances across all competitions.

Having helped City win multiple domestic and European trophies, as well as winning two individual Golden Boots, it’s undeniable that the Norwegian has been a top signing for the Blues and has settled into the team effortlessly.

Now though, a pundit has claimed that another member of Pep Guardiola’s squad actually frustrates Haaland on the pitch.

Gabby Agbonlahor claims Jeremy Doku annoys Erling Haaland

While discussing Jack Grealish and what he offers City on the pitch, Gabby Agbonlahor had this to say in a recent video shared on the talkSPORT YouTube channel about how Jeremy Doku compares to the Englishman.

He said: “[Doku] is lively, he can get at players, he can make things happen, but his final ball can frustrate Haaland.

“I watch Doku, sometimes Haaland seems a bit frustrated, where Jack, you know he will find that final ball.”

Doku proved himself to be a creative danger

City paid £55m to sign Doku from Rennes back in the previous summer transfer window.

Across his debut season with the Blues, the Belgian scored six goals and delivered 10 assists in 43 appearances.

With 29 Premier League appearances under his belt last term, Doku ended the campaign with a pass completion percentage of 81.3%, one of the lowest in the City squad.

So while there is some room for the winger to improve in terms of his final ball, he still managed to rack up the third-highest rate of shot-creating actions per 90 minutes (6.26) at the Manchester club.

In terms of Agbonlahor’s claim about Haaland being frustrated by Doku’s lack of an accurate final ball at times, we feel that the striker would still prefer to have someone as creative as the winger who he knows will create plenty of chances for him to score.
